I sit down,
Crowded by people,
Our coats and boots,
And skis mesh together
In a messy
Conglomerate of
Adventure.
I am barely breathing,
And then there you are,
Sitting across from me
With billowing, artistic
Energy.
I muster a compliment,
My feeble attempt
At telling you that you
Are beautiful.
Later, as we move down
The mountain,
And curve and twist
Among the snow,
We look up and our eyes meet.
I smile and then
You smile back,
Full of warmth.
My heart skips a beat,
So subtly that I can’t help
But notice the tenderness.
You leave before I can
Decide how to
Keep you forever.
