She asked me,
while we were staring at the stars,
“If you had the chance,
would you live on Mars?”

“Fly up there, never return,
make a map of the cosmos,
Touch the dust of planets,
and feel weightless?”

“A once in a lifetime opportunity.”

I look into her eyes
and see a galaxy, a universe,
A heavenly presence
that cannot be replaced.

This love calls me,
it is an adventure
to listen to my heart and
when I think about her,
I am floating in space.

And so I will ask her,
while we are staring at the stars,
“If you had the chance,
would you live on Mars?”
