THOUGHTS ON THE DIVINE

THOUGHTS ON THE DIVINE

Sometimes I feel like we look at the divine’s blessings like the stick-on stars that we put on the ceiling.

When the lights are on, they are no more than slightly-florescent stamps of plastic adhered to a rough and often dusty wall. Usually the plastic wonders have to charge from the light that streams through a window, or maybe from the light fixture nearby.

But it’s not until the lights go off and the curtains close, and night time arrives that the galaxy appears.

A crescent moon.

Speckles of stars.

Some planets in the corners.

Always, the divine is giving us the milky-way of their love. But it is usually not until the dark and silent times of our lives that those blessings shine out in awe and sparkle.

I don’t claim to know all of the reasons why hard times come. But perhaps, it is to more brilliantly show the divine’s shining power, wisdom, and love. And in their galaxies, we have a lot to discover.
